光井 Light Well

街屋式建築是台灣最常見的住屋型態,但長久以來都有因房屋緊鄰併排,故窗戶只能設置於前後的問題,造成採光及通風地不易,台灣屬海島型氣候,房舍容易因空間的限制使屋內較為陰暗潮濕,本案不但為此類建築,加上基地坐向屬東西向,開口面西,且面積只有60平方公尺地坪狹小,成為大多數人難以選擇居住的物件。
Townhouse is the most common housing pattern in Taiwan, since the side-by-side position, the window only available at the front and backs which generally causing the problem of unventilated, humid and dark inside. This case in one of the pattern, and it faced west and with arrow floor size, which combine all the adverse conditions.

本案嘗試為此類老式住宅創造出難得的採光與通風,將空間活化的最大值完美呈現。實際坪數僅有240平方公尺,如何在有限的空間中取捨,成功兼具完整的住宅機能與工作室需求.實現SOHO族夢寐以求的完美空間,成為本案設計的核心目標。
The designers provide several solutions for Taiwanese traditional apartment as this case to revise the prejudice. Through creative design, townhouse is also having the possibility for full lightening and ventilation. With only 240 square meters of total floor area, the dream house of overall living and studio function comes true.

概念以「穿透」為主題,將陽光、空氣巧妙融入空間成為建築的一部分。天井以強化膠合玻璃作為樓層間的連結,光線得以自屋頂流瀉而下.使住宅的每一個角落都能擁有舒適的採光,貫穿整棟住宅的透明步道,無扶手且踏階透空的黑色鋼板樓梯產生寬敞的空間感。
“Penetrability” is the main concept for the house: Sunlight, air, water and people can go through all the space smoothly. The original stairwell reconstructed to transparent patio trail and the black SRC stairs without handrail. The patio using glass to link the aisle, and for the sunlight shines down to every corner. We use the SRC stair instead of traditional brick stairs, the non-handrail and pierced design provide more space and a path for circulation, that both link and given spacious for each floor.

在每層樓面只有60平方公尺的格局中,為了在有限的空間兼顧多重機能。將車庫右側地板架高,使用大片玻璃建材將玄關隔出,看似將門口空地規劃為車庫的傳統做法,但實際上空間作了完整區隔,塑造出獨立的入口廊道與下方收納空間;自玄關沿著黑色鋼骨樓梯而上,即可進入主接待區,開放的空間既是家庭的餐廚區,也是同時兼具客廳及會議室,主要空間擺放了原木長桌,讓原本冷冽的空間較為柔和;在工作室與主接待區之間使用雙面櫃收納的方式,取代只用牆面做出隔間的一般做法,爭取更寬敞的空間及完善的機能。
Each stair only have 60 square meters, the designer adopt subtraction and intersection solution to multiply the function of this small space. The right side of garage is the glass wall lobby that isolates the automobile exhaust and creates an individual entrance and storage. Going up with the SRC stairs is the main meeting space, the open kitchen-dining area is also use as meeting room, and the wood made dining table soften the black and white color. Between the meeting space and studio, we did not use compartment but a double side storage contain all the kitchen appliance, studio printers, and also lines and wires. We reduce the waste of space and provide a wider and spacious meeting and working area with functional design.

在私人空間的設計上,三樓主臥室為使空間更為寬敞,捨棄了浴廁隔間,透過洗手台與梳妝台結合的平台劃分區域,並利用水泥鋪面與木地板鋪面劃分出空間,以線的概念取代原本面的做法,浴室與廁所並共用拉門、收納空間隱藏於牆面,看是同屬一個空間的範圍,卻依然保有各自獨立的機能。
頂樓成為為調節整棟建築的空氣層,而透明天井成為整棟樓的光源入口,戶外的草皮不但有降溫的功能,也在居家及工作中加上了休憩的元素,搭配各層樓梯間所採取的無阻隔作法,讓來自於頂樓的陽光及空氣完整的灑落,每一處的設計皆是對應居住需求的要素,使整棟樓的溫度、濕度、與採光皆透過多重的規劃得到了最佳的平衡。
As for the private area, there are even lass compartment to integrate the pathway. We design a no-door bathroom for the mater bedroom at the 3rd floor, only zoning the sleeping and bathing area by the platform of washbasin and dresser table and different material of the floor. The shower and toilet share a slide door, hide the storage in the wall, by the concept of reuse for space, the boundary of area are less clear-cut but still able to keep their own function, and create a wide and comfortable living space. The living room on the 4th floor is the air zone of the whole building. The transparent patio brings in the sunlight, the penetrate stairs open the air convection, and the garden at west side adjust and lower the heat for 2nd and 3rd floor. Everyone of these design is echo the key element for living. The multiple function of 4th floor are the best solution contribute to benefit the temperature, humidity and lightening for the house.
